PLANTING:
• Pecan and fruit trees need good drainage so make sure your soil drains well
before planting. Dig the hole then fill with water, if it takes longer than 8 hours
to drain out of the hole you have poor drainage.
• Select a full sun location, at least 6 hours of direct sun.
• Use a garden fork or knife to break up any roots that are circling the root ball.
• Never plant a tree deeper than it was-in the pot. The top of the root ball should
be even with or slightly (1/4") higher than the ground.
• Water thoroughly after planting and keep root ball evenly moist for entire first
growing season.
• After planting, apply 2-3" of shredded mulch in a 3' circle at base of tree. Pull
mulch away from trunk slightly.
