millions of prospects in the community through street festivals to marathon walks down the streets of Toronto.
Our most prestigious event is the Scotiabank BuskerFest Toronto Festival which celebrated its 10th anniversary
attracting over 1 million individuals this year and raising a total of 250,000 in donations. As well at the Scotia-
bank Toronto Waterfront Marathon last September Epilepsy Toronto doubled the number of runners who wore
purple and for the second year in a row won the top prize out of all participating charities putting epilepsy on the
map.
Mr Wright, we graciously feel that with the $25,000 donation towards the Hope Campaign, Epilepsy
Toronto can achieve their goals in shaping a stronger community and awareness for all individuals living with
epilepsy. Individuals experiencing seizures their symptoms are difficult to identify, the become miss diagnosed
for other medical conditions. The campaign of Hope was inspired by a ten year old girl from Nova Scotia who
decided that it was time the world became more aware of the epilepsy that impacted her life and more than 50
million other people around the world. Cassidy Megan’s imagination and desire created Purple Day which we at
Epilepsy Toronto and around the world, celebrated this past March 26,2009.
Purple Day became the national and international epilepsy awareness day. In the awareness of Purple
Day, Epilepsy Toronto is running a $3 million capital campaign to build a resource centre for young individuals
to learn more about epilepsy. Students will be able to engage in practical learning skills, in class workshops on
