Project for MBA (Gen/IB/Agri)-III Semester

This is to inform our students of MBA (Gen / IB / Agri) - III Semester that they have to
make an Industry specific report in small groups on each of the following Industries.

• Banking
• Steel
• Pharmaceuticals
• Oil & Gas
• IT Services
• Automobiles
• Telecommunication
• Cement
• Service Industry
• Consultancy
• Real Estate/ Construction
• Manufacturing & Production
• Retail
• FMCG
• Power & Energy
• Agriculture Industry

Purpose of Industrial report: To acquaint the students about different Industries and
make them understand every aspect related to that industry. This will prove beneficial for
them in their final placements as Industry knowledge is necessary to prepare themselves
for any discussion, interview etc.

Instructions for Preparation of the report: Each group assigned with a particular
industry will make a brief report of around 12 pages. They also have to make a power
point presentation of the same report to have a brief & quick view. The report must
address the following points for each industry -

a. Evolution of the Industry.


b. Products & Services offered by the Industry. Terms used & Technologies.
c. Size and growth of the Industry. Industry Profitability.
d. Major players with market shares and businesses. (Competition, USP’s etc.)
e. Regulating issues (if applicable)
f. Analysis of competitive scenario using any framework
g. Head quarter, CEO’s and Regional heads.
h. Stage of Industry Life Cycle.
i. Employees and HR policies.
j. Best Industry Practices.
k. Market capitalization, Share price.
l. Campaigns being facilitated by Companies of that Industry ( If Applicable)

This report is due on 29th Day of October, 2010 (Friday). All students are expected to
submit their project report to Mr.Udayan Karnatak, Mr Himanshu Mahobia & Mr.
Himanshu Vyas at Amity Business School.

Note:

1. Students have to maintain the standard format of report making where they will
use Times New Roman font with 16, 14, 12 ratio of font size ( Topic in 16,
Heading in 14 & Text in 12). It should have to be properly justified (Middle
justified, not left, right or central). Make sure not to use Bold, Italic & Underline
properties of MS Word extensively. The spacing will be 1.5 with a descent
margin from both the ends of the page. Overall it should have to be professional
representation of your analytical work.

2. Students to strictly maintain the due timeline to avoid any Inconvenience
