Country Cowl   

Aesthetic Nest 

Materials: 

 Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick 
 Size 15 circular knitting needles 
 Tapestry needle for weaving in ends 
 Stitch marker 

Gauge:  8 stitches=4" (finished cowl measures about 33" around and 15" long) 

Abbreviations: 

 k2tog:  Knit two together 
 yo: Yarn over 

Cowl: 

Cast on 70 stitches.   

Row 1:  Knit all stitches. Place stitch marker on first stitch and join to knit in the round (all rows will be 
knit rows on the right side). Move stitch marker at the start of each row. 

Row 2:  *Knit 3, yo, k2tog.**  Repeat from * to **  to complete row, ending with a k2tog. 

Row 3:  Knit all stitches. 

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the work measures 15 inches, ending with a knit row. 
Bind off all stitches. Weave in ends. 

Drawcord: 

Cast on 100 stitches. 

Row 1: Bind off all stitches.  

Weave in ends. 

Weave drawcord through the decorative holes at the top or middle of the cowl to wear it differently.  

  

 (Flip inside‐out and weave through middle, put on inside‐out, then flip cowl down right side showing for 
the double collar look pictured above. Weave through top on right side and cinch under neck tightly or 
loosely.)
