1. What does Nora DO over the course of the play?

Remember Ball’s edict that the


reader learns about a character through their actions, identify all of Nora’s actions.

2. In your own words, state what you think Nora’s wants are throughout the play.
These should correspond to some of here actions identified above, and should
include some larger, more psychologically complex wants. Support all wants with a
textual reference.
3. How does Nora appear to the other characters in the play? Include any
distinguishing characteristics, physical appearance, quirks or attitudes. Include textual
references.

4. How does Nora think and feel? Consider particular patterns of traits and
activities. Consider her thought patterns, how she makes decisions, and habits she
has.
5. What do we learn about Nora from her: (cite textual references whenever
applicable)

and what does her actions express? Do these contradict?)

Suppression-(what ideas or attitudes are implied by the thoughts and desires that Nora
never actually expresses or acts on? How does she keep this secret? Why does she
think it is necessary to keep them secret?)
