– Mother plant to come over 1,100 acres of land

– 10,000 people will be directly and indirectly employed
– Infrastructure worth Rs100Cr (US$25Million) including roads, power, drainage, water,
effluent treatment plant to be developed by Gujarat Industrial Development Board

It took 10 days to tie up all loose ends-make the land ready for possession,
get all clearance and approvals-and offer a final deal”
Mr. Ravi Kant, MD Tata Motors to Times of India Newspaper 8th Oct
GUJARAT: MOVES AHEAD : HOME TO TATA’S NANO PROJECT
Tata and Gujarat started a new chapter of partnership
– Together with Tata Motors, about 60 vendors would also move to the new location.
– Tata would also take up agriculture and marine biology research in the state as well as build an ITI near Nano plant
for training workers

“Gujarat was able to define the land, secure possession of the land-the main thing-at an
unbelievably fast pace. In fact, if we could move a plant in a day, we could have actually have
started operating here, given the fact that everything was ready in the state”

“The chief minister of Gujarat moved very fast. Gujarat enjoys the reputation of being an investor-
friendly state. So we decided this was really the place where we have everything in order. With
all other states, despite all their good intentions, there were many things yet to be settled. So we
decided to move forward with Gujarat and everything was put in proper place”
