CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

To the members and friends of Fondacio

Through Him, with Him, and in Him.

This acclamation has inspired the International Congress in 2008, and each of our activities and the daily
life of our community since. We try to recall it in whatever we live or go through. No one is spared from
difficulties in one’s life or excluded from its joys.
In this Christmas season, we remember that God himself reveals himself to us in this mystery of the
incarnation. Such is the way he signifies the full dignity of all human reality.
It is through Him, with Him, and in Him that everything will happen and is fully realized.

Looking at the helpless and defenseless child moving about on the straw of a barn, this word becomes
paradoxical: it is not anymore a distant and almighty God. He "did not consider equality with God" (Ph 2:6)
to become one of us, one as you and me. He becomes a child from the Ivory Coast, from Haiti, from France
or elsewhere. He becomes a child of the human family.

How can the whole human existence be understood in the light of this child born in a crib in a lost corner
of the world at an unlikely moment of the history of mankind? How can God be understood when seen as a
fragile child, as the young man he will become, denuded of his clothes and nailed down on the wood of the
cross? His only garment covering him then is that of total confidence abandoned in the Love of the Father
who will clothe him with the light of the resurrection: the divine child is born! He is risen he who was dead!
He is with us everyday till the end of times!

For us to have the fullness of life, Jesus of Nazareth came to reveal God: Ever loving and merciful Father,
given Son, life path for us, Spirit who liberates and gathers us.

May this Christmas season enable us to receive the light of His revelation in our lives! May this infinite
Love renew our existence!

I wish that each of you - children of the Father, brothers of the unique Son, living in the Spirit – may remain
kneeling humbly in front of life and that through Him, with Him, and in Him we may let ourselves be raised.
