Which is why our 2005 Ibanez catalog has changed. We’ve gone a little upscale. This catalog is larger than anything
we’ve ever done before. That’s because our 2005 Ibanez lineup of guitars, basses, amplifiers and effects is larger and
more varied than anything we’ve ever done before. We think that says something.
All the new gear simply wouldn’t fit in an ordinary catalog. And an ordinary catalog simply wouldn’t do justice to
our expanded line of Prestige guitars and basses. On the other hand an ordinary catalog wouldn’t do justice to the
expanded lineup of what made Ibanez famous: great sounding, high quality, easy playing, AFFORDABLE instruments
for everyone from the beginner to the working pro. That hasn’t changed. It never will.
One huge reason Ibanez represents change is because we constantly watch what our artists are doing and listen to
what they’re thinking and playing. That’s not as serious as it sounds. A lot of times it’s a whole lot of fun.
Which is why this catalog not only goes upscale, it goes backstage. So you can share in some of the fun. Some of our
artists have obliged us by giving us their own snapshots of life on the road. You can compare them to your own experi-
ences or get prepared for your own first tours. Or you may even decide, you know, come to think of it, I’d rather just play
at home. That’s okay. As long as you keep playing. Because that’s another thing that should never change.
All 2005 electric guitars (except the GIO models) are equipped with D’Addario® strings.
Our 2005 selection of electric guitars and basses features
the largest, most diverse selection of Prestige instruments
for the discriminating professional we’ve ever offered. Ibanez
Prestige guitars and basses are crafted of premium woods by
our most experienced luthiers using the perfect blend of New
World technology and Old World craftsmanship. Identifiable
in this catalog by the Prestige logo, Prestige models feature
necks with the comfortable rounded feel previously found
only in vintage instruments broken in by years of dedicated
playing. Prestige instruments also feature high-end electronics
and precision-crafted deluxe appointments.

In the last two decades, no other guitar maker has done so much to advance the art
and science of the tremolo. The Edge-PRO, Edge-PRO II, and the new Edge III represent
significant advances in the evolution of the locking tremolo.
Edge-PRO
Edge-PRO
The Edge-PRO features a unique Sound Metal Chip on each saddle which help
increase sustain right at the most critical area, the intonation point.
To avoid the problem of string holder blocks getting lost during string changes,
the Edge-PRO’s sliding string holders are actually part of the bridge and won’t
drop from the saddle unit. With the Edge-PRO design, there’s no need to cut off
the ball of your strings when installing new strings.
Edge-PRO II
Edge-PRO II
Like the Edge-PRO, the Edge-PRO II features sliding string
holders and string balls do not have to be cut off.
Edge III
Edge III
The new Edge III is similar in construction and
feel to the original Edge locking trem, however
it also features lower profile fine-tuners
inspired by the Lo-PRO Edge and massive
new-design saddles.
Edge III
The ZR tremolo may be the most significant advance in locking tremolos since the first
locking tremolo. Most floating tremolos use a knife-edge system, but the ZR tremolo uses a
ball-bearing based system for precision and friction-free smooth action.

“ When I was 15 years old, I focused heavily on playing acoustic
guitars for a year or so. I have owned many acoustic guitars
since then, but like my electric guitars, there were elements
I wanted in the design that I couldn’t find in any acoustic
guitars. I knew the day would come when I would have the

Two years ago, Ibanez offered an original
design mini-jumbo-sized guitar
known as the JX. We discontinued it in favor
of other designs because we
thought no was interested. We were wron
g. (And did we hear about it.) So to
make things right, we’ve incorporated the
rock and roll JX body shape into our
new AES line. The AES features the smal
lest and slenderest body of the Ibanez
AE acoustic-electric lineup.
