This week my main key aims were to complete a Production Log weekly, complete a
minimum of 20 shots in my shooting script and lastly going through information aboutwhat I
should have completed in the next two weeks. For example, these things are; a guaranteed
contact list, call sheets, risk assessment sheets and the beginning of the production schedule
for February.

During my lessons this week I focused on doing my shooting script. To start off the lesson I had
to complete two activities, this was so that I understood some of the media terms that may
be used in the shooting script. The shooting script is a guideline for me to follow during
production. It·s like a plan of each of my shots will be, what will happen and where will they
be filmed etc«The two activities that I undertook were ¶Key Media Terms· and watching
through a documentary to count how many ¶Graphics· I see throughout. I enjoyed the first
task as it was a way of testing my own knowledge, I got most of the answers correct and the
ones that I didn·t I asked the teacher is she could expand on them so that I could figure it
out. An example of one of the key terms was ¶The voice of an unseen narrator placed over a
moving image· ² Voice over.

When beginning my shooting script I found it quite difficult thinking on the spot and typing up
each shot individually. Therefore, I decided that I·d start the first few shots and after the
lesson write up each shot and plan it all on paper before typing it up, this way in my next
lesson I would be able to continue the shooting script without leaving time to think about
each shot that would go into my documentary. This also helped as I was able to add other
shots into my shooting script and could work around it as I knew what shot was next. Below is
a screen shot of my uncompleted shooting script. I will continue completing it and hopefully
have it finished by the end of the following week.
