Problem
User encounters ‘Category is invalid’ error when selecting an iCatalog items
to add to Shopping Cart in iProcurement

Cause
This happens when the category defined by buyer in the iCatalog upload file is
not mapped to the Oracle Purchasing category

Solution
 To resolve this issue, the iProcurement Catalog Categories need to map to
Oracle Purchasing Categories. This can be done by buyer. Following are the steps:
1) From your iProcurement Catalog Administrator eContent Manager page,
expand the “Online Schema Maintenance” option (Figure 1).

2) Click on “Map iProcurement Categories”. The iProcurement Category Mapping

will appear (shown in Figure 1).
Choose to search unmapped categories by specify Category Status “is Not
Mapped” and click “Go” (Figure 2). All unmapped categories should then appear

3) Next, click on the checkboxbutto
next to the category that you would like to map.
Click on the “Map” button (Figure 3).
4) Next select the Purchasing category to map to before click on Apply button to
proceed (Figure 4).
