Corporate Strategy Analysis of Burger King Corporation

This report is set to evaluate the corporate marketing strategy that carried out by burger
king on how they gain a competitive advantage internationally through globalization.
Burger King is the world second largest fast food hamburger restaurant. In order to
evaluate these strategies, the approach that will be evaluated will be related to Porter’s
competitive positioning. This is to show how the company used Porter’s Generic
strategies successfully. Other than that, SWOT analysis will be included in this report
also which practice by Burger King. It provides an in-depth strategic analysis of the
company’s businesses and operations. It will show a clear and unbiased view of the
company’s key strengths and weaknesses and the potential opportunities and threats.

Along this report, the process of making this product will be discussed. Moreover, the
financial report of Burger King will be evaluated. It is to show the demand of the product
in Malaysia. The McKinsey 7S framework can be used in a wide variety of situation
where an alignment perspective is useful. It can help improve the performance of the
company and examine the likely effects of future changes within the company. This
framework can be used to align departments and processes during a merger or
acquisition. It also determine how best to implement a proposed strategy.

In order to write a successful report, a collection of different sources will be used in this
report. The sources includes from journal, text book, websites, newspapers articles,
magazines, media articles, Burger King Corporation’s annual report. The information
gained from these sources helped to discover how Burger King manages to gain the
competitive advantage in their industry. It has also helped to focus the importance of
successful competitive positioning with models from Porter and the McKinsey 7S
framework to establish the position in the minds of the consumer.
