Honorable City Council,

It has become apparent that my role within the City has become a political distraction. Even
with the very recent successes and progress that has been made on a number of fronts, my
presence would most likely continue to be a distraction. During these tough financial times,
and with the challenges that the City faces ahead, I do not want my presence to inhibit the
undivided attention that these issues require and deserve of its elected officials.

Secondly, the only thing that means more to me than the health and success of Allen Park
is the well-being of my family. There have been a number of occasions of recent in which
my children have been subjected to questioning and/or comments by adults. Above and
beyond any other duties that I may hold, my role as husband and father is what I hold most
dear.

It is with these circumstances in mind that I must make the difficult decision to submit my
letter of resignation from the position of City Administrator. My last day of work will be
March 11th, 2011.

I love the City of Allen Park and believe that the vast majority of our neighbors and fellow
residents are good people. With capable government and the support of the people, our City
will get through these tough times and continue to be a great community to live, work and
play.
