DOT joins 1st International Agri-Tourism Expo

Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Alberto Lim and A-LINX Events International
President and General Manager Kenneth Dong signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) to seal the partnership for the 1st International Agri-Tourism Expo
themed “Empower Economy Through Agriculture and Tourism Growth,” which will be
held on June 30 – July 02, 2011 at the Halls B & C of the World Trade Center Manila.

Secretary Lim welcomed this development for agri-tourism as it will help the
Department’s drive to promote countryside tourism and accelerate growth of the agri-
tourism sites. Some of the agri-tourism sites focus on health and wellness and food
production, as seen in The Farm at San Benito, Batangas, mango farms in Guimaras,
Malagos Farm in Davao, and pineapple and banana farms in Bukidnon, among others.

DOT Undersecretary Atty. Maria Victoria V. Jasmin and A-LINX’s Grace Vergara were
witnesses to the signing of this MOU and this commitment to further enrich agri-tourism
in the Philippines.
