B orn in Tehran in 1973, Mana
Neyestani is an award-winning
cartoonist from Iran. The
politics and poetry in his cartoons have
made him one of the most high-profile
political cartoonists in the country.
In 2006, he was arrested and
imprisoned by the Iranian authorities
for one of his cartoons published by
the Iran newspaper. Recipient of the
2010 Courage in Editorial Cartooning
Award, Neyestani is now in exile in
Malaysia. His works appear regularly
in pro-democracy Iranian websites:
