COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET-LL.M) 2011
The School of Legal Studies, Indian Maritime University (IMU) will conduct the Common Entrance Test (CET-LLM) on June
19, 2011 at Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune. IMU-CET (LLM) is a
prerequisite for admission to the LLM Program in Maritime Law that will be offered at the Chennai and Cochin campuses from
the August 2011 session. The LL.M is a two year Masters program in Maritime Law that aims to provide a thorough grounding
in all aspects of International Maritime Law. The curriculum includes specialized courses in Shipping Law and the Law of the
Sea. The program aims to equip lawyers with the knowledge and skills required to make a valuable contribution to the
International Shipping Industry. IMU has signed an MoU with the National Law Schoo! of India University, Bangalore and offers
a seminar course on the Law of the Sea there.
IMU-CET (LL.M) Eligibility
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Law with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA{50% in case of candidates
belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories} awarded by any of the
Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India. Candidates appearing for the final year of the
Bachelor's degree /equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting
fesults can also apply. Prospective candidates must maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process.
HOW TO APPLY
IMU-CET (LLM) Application Form will be made available through the following channels:
% Downloading the application form, information brochure and challan through www.imu.tn.nicn and paying the
relevant fe through challan to any of SBV/Indian Bank branches throughout India.
+ Through select branches of Indian Bank by paying Rs 1000/- (Rs 500/- for SC/ST/DA candidates). For details of
branches please refer www.imu.tn.nic.in.
‘ By sending demand draft of is 1000/- (Rs 500/- for SC/STIDA candidates) in favour of “indian Maritime University”
payable at “Chennai” to “Controller of Examinations” at above address. :
+ Direct visi to any of IMU Campuses at Chennai, Cochin, Mumbai, Kolkata and Vizag and submitting a demand draft of
Rs 1000/- (Rs 500/-for SC/ST/DA candidates) in favour of “indian Maritime University” payable at“Chennai’
Filled in application, in al respect, must be sent to “Controller of Examinations, Indian Maritime University, East Coast
Road, Uthandi, Chennai 600119” by superscribing the erivelope “Application for IMU-CET (LL.M) June 2011”.
