TARGET AREA 2 : Governance and Leadership

CRITICAL ACTIONS
1. Review and update School Policy/ Procedure Manual on an annual basis.

2. Update ‘New Board Member Orientation Manual’

3. Review and update Student Manual de Convivencia and Staff Handbook on an annual basis

4. Maintain and systematically review the “Proyecto Educativo Institucional” on an annual basis.

5. Foster teacher, student and parent governance (Stuco, Consejo Directivo, SIP Team, Consejo Académico,
Consejo de Padres, ASOPAF, Junta Asesora, Comisiones de Evaualuacion y Promocion). Define roles and
expectations in compliance with Colombian Ministry of Education laws and regulations regarding parent
governance and participation

6. Create and maintain an organizational chart that is published on the school webpage. Revise organizational
chart and guarantee that each position has an updated job description.

7. Introduce a “data-warehousing” program that will allow central storage, analysis and easy access to data for
students, parents and faculty to enhance administrative decision-making.

8. Conduct yearly analysis to determine strength and weaknesses in school practice and organizational conditions
through surveys to all stakeholders.

9. Employs a system that provides for analysis and review of student performance and school effectiveness to
be able to respond to community expectations and stakeholder satisfaction.

10. Continue organizing curricular and extracurricular activities sponsored by the school that promote leadership
amongst the student body:
 Co- curricular: Science Fair, AISMUN, Student Clubs, Music Festival, Drama Presentations,
Carnival Dances
 Extracurricular: Arts, Drama, Violin, Rock Band, Language Club, Eco Club, Karate, Sport Teams

11. Further enhance the effectiveness of our faculty evaluation procedures by adding the measurement of
the commitment to AIS’s mission, vision, and values as well as our concept of academic excellence.

12. Plan, develop and implement an alumni association for AIS that will encourage participation and
involvement of former students and friends of the school.

13. Formalize an extracurricular sport program to train students in competitive sports to better prepare
them for local and national tournaments.

14. Implements an evaluation system that provides for the professional growth of all personnel.
