How time flies! Two years to this newsletter
V-LIFT are already over! Many events have
changed & still changing the World and
India. Today, the situation is not what it was
last year. Life goes on and as they say the
tough (people) get going.
Due to slowdown in economy, this time,
overall response to CeMAT Exhibition at
Bangalore, where we also participated, was
not as good as last year.
Our Division now launches rugged and
reliable Pick & Carry cranes. Customers
who have been looking for reliable products
from House of Voltas would certainly
welcome this product.

Our sales & service team at stall was very enthusiastic. Many visitors provided serious
enquiries and some machines were sold during the exhibition itself. However, due to the

 Voltas offers world-class side loaders for handling long members
Voltas now brings a new product to help you effectively utilize the
space available in your premises. Yes, the new product is Baumann
Side Loaders from Italy. Baumann s.r.l., located in Cavaion, Italy, is a
manufacturer (exclusively) of side loaders for over 40 years and its
name is synonymous with high quality products. Voltas distributes
Baumann Side Loaders in India and provides product support.
Masts are available in Standard (duplex) and triplex versions.
Attachments and forks can be quickly interchanged with quick release
systems available as options.
Baumann Side Loaders are available in Diesel, LPG and Battery
operated prime-movers. The range Diesel Version is 3 Ton to 45 Ton

Side Loaders find extensive use in Steel Plants, Plywood Industries,
Pipe Manufacturing Industries, Lighting High Mast Manufacturers,
Log Handling at Ports and Wood based Industry, Bus Body Builders,
Railway Coach Builders, Multi-products Stores requiring high level
stacking and inside narrow press shops requiring die-handling.

Side Loader carries the loads on its own platform and the mast-
carriage-fork assembly is fitted at 90 deg to its axis. This arrangement
facilitates lift-carry and place load on platform functions effectively. As
the load is picked-up sideways, the aisle width required by side
loaders is just a one-third of what is required by forklift. The sketch
given below explains the effectiveness of handling long loads using
side loaders. With telescopic pantograph attachment, the outreach
of the forks further enhances the capability of the side loaders.

The ergonomic cab, rotating seat, high degree visibility and finger-tip
controls makes the operations safe and comfortable. The load
stabilizing tilt system enables tilting of the entire platform and mast so
that loads such as pipes and logs don't roll off while marching.
Spreader attachments with foldable forks enhance lifting capabilities
when long loads are to be handled.

Trinity Techserve, our dealer at Pune, bags order for 5 forklifts

● Management was happy to note that M/s. Trinity Techserve, were able to close deal for large order of
5 nos. of forklifts (3 nos. 3T, 1 no. each 4T and 15T capacity) from our prestigious customer M/s Veer Gujar Aluminum.
● Management appreciates efforts of M/s Trinity Techserve, who carried out Health Check -up for 35 forklifts at M/s Cummins India.

Development of Dealers' personnel

In order that our dealers (read partners) are able to deliver the same service to customers as Voltas, we have been imparting training to dealers'
personnel continually. During 2008, we have trained 41 personnel with over 10 days training per person.

Rough Terrain Hydraulic cranes

For almost a quarter of a century now, Voltas has been manufacturing
and supplying Rough Terrain Hydraulic cranes, including Truck
Mounted Cranes, of various capacities (18T to 50T) for use in various
applications and industry sectors. Voltas had the collaboration with
P&H, USA way back in 1983. Voltas offers very cost effective models,
which have withstood the test of the time. Customers, who use these
cute gentle giants, come back to Voltas time & again for repeat
purchase.

Large Engineering Corporate, Larsen & Toubro (ECC Division)

placed order for 6 nos. of VLRT40 cranes in 2008 for their 1200
crores prestigious 'Pipeline-Cairn Energy Project' at Barmer,
Rajasthan. L&T appreciated us for receiving their cranes on time.

Thane gets Best Location Ethics Counselor Award

At a Refresher Session on the Tata Code of Conduct (TCoC), held on
December 5, 2008, at Mumbai, Mr. Moiz M. Miyajiwala, Company
Ethics Counselor, in his inaugural address stated that - there are
many benefits of working for an ethical organization since this evokes
confidence and trust in the minds of customers as also with tax and
other authorities.
Employees of Voltas have a major responsibility on their shoulders to
ensure that this confidence and trust is not broken, since it would
harm not only Voltas' image but also the brand value of Tatas. He also
stated that the Location Ethics Counselor (LEC) has an important and
critical role to play as he has to be empathetic, trustworthy and has to
walk the talk.
Lt. Col. Allan Burby, of TQMS, and many other speakers from Voltas
made the presentations. B. R. Swaminathan, LEC for Thane, was
felicitated with a memento for proactive measures taken and
promptly investigating and closing concerns effectively.
