This report on the analysis of the telecommunication industry of Pakistan was a great
learning experience. The report updated our knowledge and information on all aspects of
the industry, ranging from the history to the future outlook.

For the completion of the report, we are grateful to Allah Almighty, who gave us strength
to overcome the challenged faced in the making of the report

Next, we are thankful to the course instructor, Ms Saneeah Farid who guided us on each
and every step. Her constant motivation and confidence in our abilities helped us achieve
our objective.

Also, we are highly thankful to Mr Taha, Corporate Relationship Manager, South Zong
destination and Mr. Musheer, Ufone Senior Manager for giving us valuable time for the
interview. Their ideas were of value to us which have been successfully incorporated in
the report.

Lastly, we were pleased to work with every group member for his or her cooperation and
team spirit in producing this report.
 STRUCTURE OF THE REPORT

The report was completed in three phases and hence has been divided into three parts.
• Part 1 of the report consists of the history and the policies that have affected the
industry. It is based on secondary research from internet and reports from
respective authorities

• Part 2 of the report consists of the information of top 7 firms, the analysis on
industry growth, financial ratios of PTCL and Worldcall, & industry demand and
supply conditions. This part is also based on secondary research from internet
and formal reports of the authorities

• Part 3 of the report consists analysis of the Porter’s model, interview answers
from Zong and Ufone, problems and the solutions, future plans of the companies
and a future outlook of the industry This part of report is based on primary
research .
