My sermon today is based on the scriptural reading will be from the book of Colossians chapter 1 verse 16 and 17 which read as follows: ‘© By Him all things were created: things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. ‘+ And He fs before all things, and in Him all things hold together. ‘Analyzing and delving deep into this biblical text you become aware that God created all these things, heaven and earth, thrones and powers, rulers and authorities, inthis design for the sake of peace. Any action that disturbs this arrangement will obviously be equaled to waging war against the Lord and of course this will inevitably destroy your existence as an individual as a ruler and even authority on this earth. PEACE Is the Key to unlock all conflicts and disputes. From this scriptural reading we learn that all existence came to be through the power of our Creator. It should be understood that for the universe, seen or unseen, created by God will depend on Him for continued existence. Everything in creation for it to fully live its life or function must be aligned to its original intended design by God, the Creator, and the Principal Authority. Take 2 fish out of the water, twill suffocate to death; uproot a tree and ley it on the earth’s surface, it will wither and finally dic. By leaving their lives in water a fish is submitting to the principal authority of the Creator. Thay will not only live but will multiply as instructed by God the Creator. Unlike plants, animals and birds the evolution of man is and has been entangied by the original sin wherein man wes betrayed by Satan. Satan is an angel created by God but rebelled against the Creator's authority, Satan’s aim when tempting or betraying mankind was that human beings should doubt who Page 12 they were; thereby losing their true selves by forfeiting the precious life and the authority that God has gronted them and finally disturbing the PEACE bestowed upon MANKIND. Go bohlokwa go elelwe gore ‘yo Diabolose 0 dula a tshephiga goba go foraforetia batho dilo t8eo le yena a se nago taolo go tSona ka gore tSohle di hlotSwe ke Modimo. In Zacharla Chapter 2 verse 8 God, through an angel calls His children the apple of His eye. This means that whenever mankind does anything wrong God is hurt by it. He knows that human wrong-doing, inders mankind to do what is right. He knows that if human beings are not doing what is right they will bbe moving away from the first blessing and the authority bestowed unto them, therefore, disturbing the PEACE. He knows that man would not be able to inherit His Kingdom which He created for Himself being God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, His angels who did not defy his euthority and the people who led their lives in the manner that glorified Him on earth, All the great leaders and prophets tried their bast in restoring the relationship of man and God but the ‘One who fulfilled complete obedience to God's principles and laws so that man can be reconciled to God, that man can enjoy the original blessing and authority, was the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Let us read from the Holy Gospel of John 6 verses 38 to 40 which read as follows when Jesus said: * For have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but the Will of Him that has sent me ‘© This!s the Will of Him that sent Me: that 1 should lose none of those He has given Me but should raise them up on the last day = For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life and ! will aise Him up on the last day ‘The Holy Gospel of John chapter 17 verse 1 to 4 continues: ‘* Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven and said: Father, the hour has come, Glorify Your ‘Son that the Son may Glorify You = For you have gave Him authority over al flesh; so he may give eternal life to all you have given im © This eternal life: that they may know you. The only true God, and the one you have sent ~ Jesus christ = Ihave glorified you on the earth by completing the work You gave me to do. ‘This authority that Jesus restored to mankind He Himself completely submitted to it although all was created by and for Him and the Creator. This He did by allowing Himself to be born of a woman, by allowing Himself to be baptized by John the Baptist, by allowing Himself to be tried by the deviland the ultimate sacrifice of laying His Life on the Cross. PEACE begets democracy. PEACE hegets conditions for social and economic emancipation, PEACE begets conditions for economic growth, job creation and the eradication of poverty, which as we know affects young people and woman the most, MAY GOD BLESS (OUR PEOPLE PARTICULARLY WOMEN AND CHILOREN. We have now entered the second centenary of the founding of our church. Floods engulfed parts of Australia and in the process destroyed many tives, homes leaving a number of them destitute. In Africa, unrest and political turbulence reared its ugly head in parts of our continent, especially Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Syria amongst others. in ivory Coast, the dispute over the outcome of the Presidential elections saw unnecessary blood being shed. AAs in the past, itis not for us as the church to take pasition on the correctness or otherwise of what is happening. We however have a Moral and Spiritual obligation to always pray for PEACE for the Lord to give our leaders the strength the vision and Wisdom to pursue PEACEFUL solution at all cost rather than resort to war which os we know causes untold suffering to human life and destroys much needed social and economic transformation. It is true and obvious that whet has been happening in the last few days and weeks in Egypt, Tuni: Syria, Yemen and Libya not forgetting the Ivory Coast is a direct disturbance of PEACE in the world particularly on the continent of Africa, our land. The concept of KGOTSO is obviously @ process that our Lord Jesus Christ has lived and died for. This warrants Divine intervention rather than human military intervention because during the process it is human life whether it be African, American, 8 French civilians or soldiers that are caught In the firing line. There is nothing that can surpass the process of dialogue between and amongst the countries in conflict. In the end nothing works better than dialogue in any situation. The shedding of unnecessary bloadshed can be avoided We are this afternoon as the Z.C.C. Joining whoever are PEACE loving institutions and organizations urging all the World godies such as the United Nations, the Arab League, African Union, National Page la Atlantic Treaty Orgenizations and European Union to start revisiting their strategies with the aim of reinstating PEACE in the countries faced by the plague of war. We encourage them to unite and join hands in the name of establishing PEACE between and amongst the people of the world, Africa in particular. Africa particularly South Africa is rich with brains that can be utilized to carry forward the processes of DALOGUE where disputes arise. Recently this is confirmed by Ivory Coast as announced by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of $A where the Ivorian Coast authorities find it necessary to invite the SA to can be able to conduct a model of Truth and Reconciliation to establish an EVERLASTING PEACE In thelr country. This recognition by Ivory Coast is also based on respect, and therefore we urge all of the world bodies to respect and recognize one another rather than undermining the efforts taken by some other institutions. Yesterday, the Tatana family in Ficksburg laid Andries Tatana to rest following his brutal assault and killing by unscrupulous police during # peaceful protest march. This afternoon, the Z.C.C, and Its leadership sent condolences to the Tatana family, the community, local and provincial governments for the untimely loss of their beloved citizen. We learn that this young man was very active in improving the expertise of the most needed and important learning areas such as Mathematics and Physical Science, ‘the challenging leerning areas. He was indeed an asset to our growing boys and giris in the area. He was one of the greatast contributors to the education of our children. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE! May Mr Tatana’s death be the monument by the police and govemment to ensure that never again should unnecessary force and brutality be meted against innocent women, men and children. This type of brutality wes not necessary as the weapon of establishing the co-existence between and amongst people to bring up PEACE such as method of dialogue was ignored. The police are there to protect, ‘communities and not to be involved in criminal activities. While the Z.C.C. condemns those police who ‘were involved in the killing of Mr. Tatana, we salute many more police men and women who dally work hard without rest to combat crime and violence in our country, We salute those who cooperated with the Independent Complaints Directorate to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators. May the Lord God assist the Justice Department to bring those involved to book; let them face the wrath of the law. In few weeks, our country will once more be holding local government elections. As usual before elections the Z.C.C. pray and appeal to the Lord Jesus Christ that these elections like in the past be held in conditions that are free and fair. The Z.C.C. is this afternoon calling on all political leaders, their supporters and all participants to exercise restraints and tolerance to one another in the run up to the elections, May the Lord give the IEC the strength to conduct the elections without fear or favor to the further deepen the democracy of our beloved country our land, South Africa, Go lena bohle bao le iiego la kgona go fihla mo motseng wo mokgethwa wa medimo 2 le hlogonolofatie matapeng, meSomong, dikolong le maphelong a lena ka kakeretio.
