SIMATIC S7 TIA Course ST S7TIA


TARGET AUDIENCE

6 Days (30 hours)

This course is aimed at personnel who install or maintain automation systems and their application programs. This course introduces trainees to Siemens Totally Integrated Automation TIA concept. Participants will build skills on configuring, commissioning, troubleshooting and upgrading an automation system complete with PLC, remote I/Os, HMI, drive and communication network bus. Students will learn to navigate STEP 7, use the built in diagnostics tools and perform basic program modifications. Profibus DP configuration and troubleshooting are included using remote I/O, a Touch panel display and participant exercises.
PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE

PC literacy, Keyboard skills and Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems. Comfortable with STEP7 Programming - preferably attended a STEP7 system, programming or troubleshooting course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES

On completion of the course the student will be able to: Identify the components and performance characteristics of the SIMATIC S7 PLC Family. Understand the Concept of Totally Integrated Automation System. Integrate HMI, remote I/Os and drive with a PLC. Configure PROFIBUS DP nodes.

SIMATIC S7 System Family overview. The SIMATIC manager Software Package. Hardware Configuration. Block Architecture and program Editors. Introduction to HMI and Profibus DP. Hardware & Software Commissioning with ET-200S and TP170B. Tag & Messages in HMI. Introduction to MicroMaster MM4 variable speed drive. Data Exchange with MM4. Using Protool/Pro for troubleshooting. Commissioning the MM4 with STARTER. Whats next?

The trainer in Amman confirmaed that instead of PROTOOL, the software WinCC flexible will be introduced and used in this course.

Each of above topic areas are backed up by practical exercises on a system model consisting of S7-300 PLC, Conveyor model and Simulator, MicroMaster MM4 inverter, ET-200S distributed peripheral (remote I/O) and TP170B touch panel all integrated through a PROFIBUS DP network bus.
