Bebop Licks
The notes of the G bebop scale are: G A B C D E F Gb G. It is the same as a mixolydian scale but with an added major 7th passing note. The bebop scale is a dominant scale, meaning it should be played over dominant 7th chords. Therefore only use the major 7th as a passing note to avoid clashing between the natural 7th and the major 7th. The goal is to tastefully use the passing b7th to give your licks a jazzy bebop feel.

1) Here's a simple descending lick. Try to use pull-offs to give the lick fluidity.

3) This lick works in G major, and the bebop passing note in this case is the F natural (2nd measure) which resolves to the F#.

Bebop is jazz thats played at a fast tempo and usually guitarists who play bebop are comfortable playing at these fast speeds. The more licks you learn from these guitar lessons, the more ready you will be to play on the bandstand.
