Today the session started with the discussion of two small examples though they both were small but had conveyed message that were of immense importance .Both the example has highlighted about the clan culture .A functional clan is one in which there is congruency of personal vision with the institutional vision .While a clan becomes dysfunctional when there comes a feeling of self fulfillment, members are more concerned about their personal interest and agenda. Clan culture demands for mutual respect and honor from its member, when the feeling of respect is lost then there is split in the clan. The institute suffers when there is non congruency between the institutional vision and the personal vision. Self evolution guides the member of the clan and self effectiveness leads to organizational effectiveness. There was a detailed discussion upon spirituality and its significance. INDIAN MANAGEMENT cannot be thought of without spirituality .Spirituality enshrines character of an individual. It is spirituality that ensures the sustainability of individual in the environment .It is the basis of social transformation. We had a detailed discussion upon GOD. The discussion boils down to the emergence of the definition of GOD. He is an ideal man who has the features that we aspire for and everyone desires for. We were a bit deviated from our topic clan culture, and then we came to our topic and discussed what makes a clan effective? Basically it is the spirituality reality and the vision that makes a clan effective. There was a discussion upon EGO. We must see the world over the country, country over the state, society over the family, family over individuals and individuals over the EGO. Leaders must not feel that they are superior in the organization but the junior must feel that he is subordinate in the organization.
