WE THE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIAL SERVICE CELL AIM AT WORKING FOR
THE SOCIETY

WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE IDENTIFY UICT NOT ONLY IN CASE OF
TECHNICAL BRILLIANCE BUT ALSO FOR ITS SOCIAL WORK.WE OWE A LOT TO
THE SOCIETY .THROUGH

LAKSHYA WE WOULD LIKE TO DO OUR BIT FOR THE SOCIETY

THE STUCTURE OF THE CELL:

THE ACTIVITIES OF LAKSHYA WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF BY A TEAM OF FIVE


MEMBERS

EACH OF THE FIVE MEMBER WILL BE EQUALY IMPORTANT

THE WORK DONE BY THE FIVE MEMBERS WILL BE AS UNDER

1 FINANCE: THE PERSON INCHARGE OF FINANCE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE


ACCOUNTS OF THE CELL.

2 INTERNAL PUBLICITY: THIS PERSON WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE


PROMOTION OF THE CELL ACTIVITIES WITH IN THE CAMPUS.HE WILL BE
WORKING WITH A 6 MEMBER TEAM, CONSISTING OF 2 MEMBERS EACH
FROM C.ENGG. &B.TECH & 1 MEMBER EACH FROM P.G’S & B.PHARM DEPT.

THE REMAINING THREE MEMBERS WILL BE TAKING CARE OF THE


ACTIVITIES OF THE CELL.

ONE PRERSON WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PLANNING OF THE CELL &
TRAINING OF THE VOLUNTEERS

THE OTHER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE PLAN.

THE THIRD PERSON WILL BE INCHARGE OF RESOURCE MOBILISATION &


WILLL ALSO BE FACULTY CO-ORDINATOR
AIM OF WORKING FOR THE SCHOOL CHILDREN
TO CREATE AWARENESS REGARDING THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION

TO CREATE ENTHUSIASM FOR SCIENCE & ITS WONDERS AMONG THE


KIDS

TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THE SCIENCE OF DAY TO DAY LIFE

TO IMPROVE THE ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS OF VERNACULAR MEDIUM


STUDENTS

TO WORK FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONALITY OF THE YOUNG


CHILDRENS

TO REDUCE THE RATE OF DROPOUTS

TO WORK FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED KIDS

PRE- ADOPTION PLAN:


PUBLICISING THE ACTIVITIES OF CELL THROUGH POSTERS , ARTICLES IN
SPIRIT,ICT WEB SITE, H.R.’S. TRAINING AND PREPARING THE VOLUNTEERS
FOR THE JOB.THIS ACTIVITIES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN IN THE 2ND WEEK OF
JULY

POST ADOPTION PLANS:


CONDUCTING WORKSHOPS OF TWO HOURS PER WEEK

THE WORKSHOPS WILL BE CONDUCTED FOR THE STUDENTS OF STANDARD


7TH & 8TH

FOR BOTH ENGLISH & VERNACULAR MEDIUMS

ALSO SPECIAL SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOPS FOR THE DEAF STUDENTS WILL


BE CONDUCTED

THE WORKSHOPS WILL BE CONDUCTED BY THREE TEAMS SIMULTANEOUSLY


FOR ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED GROUP OF STUDENTS
THE THREE TEAMS WILL COMPOSE OF 15 MEMBERS EACH

2 MEMBERS FROM EACH TEAM WILL CO- ORDINATE WITH THE FIVE
MEMBERS MENTIONED ABOVE FOR THE ACTIVITIES OF THE WORKSHOPS

PREFERABLY ONE H.R. FROM EACH DEPARTMENT WILL BE THE MEMBER OF


THE CELL
THE WORKSHOPS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON SATURDAYS AFTER THE
SCHOOL HOURS DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER FROM LAST WEEK OF JULY
TO FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER.

10 WORKSHOPS WILL BE CONDUCTED FOCUSING ON CERTAIN TOPICS:

1. ROLE MODELS: ITS IMPORTANCE, PRESENT DAY ROLE MODELS


VERSUS REAL ROLE MODELS

2. TEAM BUILDING & AND LEADERSHIP:ITS IMPORTANT FOR A


SUCCESSFUL LIFE

3. MAGIC OF SCIENCE: EXPLANATION OF FUNDAS OF DAY TO DAY


SCIENCES

4. PEER PRESSURE

5. DISADVANTAGES OF VICES LIKE SMOKING…etc

6. IMPORTANCE OF SPORTS AND HOBBIES

7. ENGLISH SPEAKING WORKSHOPS

8. POLLUTION CONTROL & IMPORTANCE OF NATURE

9. INFORMING THEM ABOUT SOME COMMON DISEASES AND THE


MEASURES TO PREVENT THEM

10.SCIENTIFIC INVENTIONS AND DISCOVERIES & GENERAL LAB


EXPERIMENTS

WE WOULD LIKE TO BEGIN EACH WORKSHOP WITH A 15 MINUTES


YOGA SESSION

WE WOUL ALSO LIKE TO PLAN ANNUAL DAY & SPORTS DAY


WE CAN PLAN A VISIT WITH THE CHILDRENS TO NEHRU SCIENCE
CENTRE

OR ANY OTHER IMPORTANT SCIENTIFIC PLACE

ALSO WE WOULD LIKE TO MOTIVATE IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITES


LIKE DANCING, PAINTING, SINGING, ACTING…etc

WE ALSO AIM AT STARTING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE MERITORIOUS


STUDENTS

TAKING DOUBT SOLVING SESSIONS REGARDING THEIR SUBJECT.

ALL THE WORKSHOPS WILL AIM AT INVOLVING 100% PARTICIPATION


FROM THE KIDS

THE WORKSHOPS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE FORM OF SOME


INNOVATIVE GAMES,

DISPLAY OF POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS, ETC…

THE WORKSHOPS IN SHORT AIMS AT SERVING THE SAME FOOD IN


AN ATTRACTIVE MANNER

LIST & DISCUSS THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS, HARDSHIPS
FACED.
THEN PERFORM A SHORT SKIT ON ANY OF THE EPISODES
OF THEIR LIFE eg. MAHATMA GANDHI’S EPISODE
DISCUSS SOME SCIENTISTS AS ROLE MODELS
DISCUSS SOME FREEDOM FIGHTERS AS ROLE MODELS
TRAIN THEM TO BECOME DAY TO DAY ROLE MODELS BY
BECOMING GOOD CITIZENS
DIVIDE THEM IN GROUPS UPON THE NAME OF THEIR
FAVOURITE ROLE MODEL AND PLAY SOME INNOVATIVE &
SKILL TESTING GAMES
RECAP OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE

GIVING THEM THE MORAL OF THE DAY
ALL THE OTHER WORKSHOPS WILL ALSO BE CONDUCTED
ON THE SAME LINES WITH SOME MODIFICATIONS AS PER
