1 OH&S legal requirements The following Acts/Rules/Orders with respect to Occupational Health & Safety are applicable and shall be complied while executing Project: 1. The Building and other Construction workers (Regulation of Employment and conditions of Services) Act, 1996 & Maharashtra BOCW Rules 2007. 2. The Gas cylinder Rules, 2004. 3. The Petroleum Act 1934 & Rules 2002 4. The Electricity Act 2003 & Rules 1956. 5. The Motor Vehicles Act 1988 & Central Rules 1989 6. The Workmen's compensation Act 1923 & Rules 1924 7. The Contract Labour (Regulation & abolition) Act 1970 & Rules 1971 8. The inter-state migrant workmen (Regulation of Employment & Conditions of Services) 1979 & Central Rules 1980 9. The Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act 1986 & Rules 1988 4.2 Environmental legal requirements The following Acts/Rules/Orders with respect to Environment are applicable and shall be complied while executing Mumbai Monorail Project: 1. The Environment (Protection) Act 1986 and Rules 1986 2. The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Rules 1975 3. The Water (Prevention and control of Pollution) Cess Act, 1977; Rules 1978; Notification 2003. 4. The Air Prevention and control of Pollution) Act 1981 & Rules 1983 5. Hazardous Waste (M&H) Amendment Rules, 2003 6. Noise Pollution (R & C) Rules, 2000 7. Batteries (M&H) Rules, 2001
