Diagnostic test

Laboratory studies, such as Gram stain, blood culture,and stool sample, identify the causative bacteria, parasites, or amoebas.

Treatment
Provide nutritional suport, and increase patients fluid intake. Fluid and electrolyte replacement Antibiotics treat the causative factors. 4/15/12

Nursing considerations

Give medication as prescribed; correlate dosage, routes and time appropriately with the patients meal and activities Encourage the patient
