    IP DHCP snooping is a feature that prevents unauthorized DHCP servers from responding to DHCP requests by only allowing the legitimate DHCP server connected to a trusted interface, like the router connected to port e1/1, to respond to requests. To enable DHCP snooping, use the "ip dhcp snooping" command globally and on VLANs, configure ports facing clients as untrusted and ports facing the DHCP server as trusted to prevent rogue servers. The "show ip dhcp snooping" command can verify DHCP snooping is working properly.

    Dhcp server assign ip address to clients in a LAN .If one of the end user installs the dhcp service on the client system then there would be a conflict between the Dhcp servers. This issue can arise even from a wireless router which has Dhcp service enabled Ip dhcp snooping is a feature in cisco switch which does not allow anyone to replay the dhcp request except the dhcp server. Assume that router is dhcp server which is connected to e1/1 port in switch, this port is only allowed to replay dhcp request, for that enable ip dhcp snooping command in all switches globally. Switch(config)#ip dhcp snooping If vlans are configured Switch#(config)#ip dhcp snooping vlan id Tell the switch which port to trust. Switch(conig)#interface fa0/24 Switch(conig-if)#ip dhcp snooping trust To verify the Dhcp snooping use the show command. Show ip dhcp snooping
