Instructions

For Windows XP Users:

1. Click the Download link to start the download.

2. Do one of the following:
o To start the installation immediately, click Open or Run this
program from its current location.
o To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later
time, click Save or Save this program to disk.
3. In the Control Panel, open Regional Language Options.
4. On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages,
click Details.
5. Under Default input language, click English (New Zealand) -
Maori.
6. In the Keyboard layout/IME list, click Maori, and then click OK.

For Windows 2000 Users:

1. Click the Download link to start the download.

2. Do one of the following:
o To start the installation immediately, click Open or Run this
program from its current location.
o To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later
time, click Save or Save this program to disk.
3. In the Control Panel, open Regional Options.
4. On the Input Locales click English (New Zealand) - Maori.
5. click On Set as Default.

6. Click OK.
Additional Information

After installing the Māori Keyboard definition a user can press the [~`]
key once then any vowel. This applies to upper case as well as lower case
letters. If a user requires the left quotation the user simply presses the key
twice. If the user needs to use the tilde character, they simply use the
traditional method of [Shift]+[~`]. i.e. the ā character would be entered by
pressing the [~`] key then the [a] key.
