Monday: UoI Reading (Each day)

Use your Homework Planner to plan this weeks homework before you do anything else. 1. Each night you should complete at least 15-20 minutes of reading. You can read to an adult in your house, share what you read with an adult, or you can read to yourself. If you start a new book dont forget to add it to your Voicethread. 2. Add The Trumpet of the Swans by E.B. White to your Voicethread. 3. Voicethread task: This week you need to record yourself on your Voicethread for Boy by Roald Dahl. We are looking at this indicator from the reading continuum: Responds to and makes personal connections with facts, characters, and situations in literature. Discuss a personal connection you have with one of Roald Dahls memoirs. It could be with the characters, the facts or the situation or a combination of any of these. Talk about his recount first. Then discuss how it connects to your memory. Lastly, briefly describe your recollection.

For this unit of inquiry we are looking at scientific process and in a couple of weeks you will start working on your independent inquiries. Your task this week is to find examples of science experiments and bring them to school to share. They could be in books/magazines you have at home, a book you borrow from the library or from an online website.

Maths

Number Knowledge Goal Continue working on your Number Knowledge goal: Number Order & Sequence, Place Value, Fractions or Basic Facts. Read the ideas everyone posted last week for things they do to work on their goal. Choose one that matches your goal area and try it out. Then go to that persons post and write a reply to their idea. Mathletics - 20mins of set activities 2 - 3 times this week. This does not include live games, changing your avatar or bonus point shopping.
