i too had the same problem...

i updated my kaspersky antivirus program and then full scanned my laptop...


the cause was some amvo.exe in the system32 folder...
all the trojan programs were flushed out...

after rebooting...i still had to make the following changes in the registry...

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\advanced\fol
der\hidden\showall

double click on checkedvalue being shown on the right hand side of the division.
here alter the value of 'value data' from 0 to 1

and now my system is working fine...
