Dear Head-Teacher,

Permission for absence from School

I am writing to ask permission for Casston Chapman-hearn to be absent from your school on Thurs 16th to Wed 22nd June 2011.

As you may know, Casston has been selected to represent the Luton Town Performance Centre for 2010/11. This selection has been based upon his technical ability and attitude.

Luton Town s holistic approach to youth development is designed to affect players on and off the field. An important part of this programme is exposing youngsters to different cultures and nationalities.

During June we are taking our teams on tour to Sweden where they will compete in the ArosCupen with many of Scandinavia s biggest clubs. This gives them the opportunity to play against many of the best young players from across Northern Europe, as well as exposing them to different styles of football. From your school s perspective, we would ask whether it would be possible to set six hours of homework to be completed whilst away.

Our education officer will oversee a study period on the three days, enabling the players to work in a supervised environment. This should help to ensure that education doesn t take a back seat to football!
