Heart Storage/Display Box

Spectrum Stained Glass Project Series

by Carolyn Kyle
®

There are several ways in which this box can add a “loving touch” to your home. Built in red, white and
pale purple, it can be an exotic Valentine collection box and later provide storage for bedroom or bath.
Built in an array of pastels, it serves well by the telephone for pencils and notepad, in the playroom for
scissors and glue, or in the sewing room for thread and bobbins. Optional glass dividers will further help
to keep things tidy.

INTERIOR GLASS DIVIDERS FOR BEAR BOX OR HEART BOX

(Optional)

1. Build box first so that divider pieces can be fitted to it accu-

rately.
2. Cut a rectangle of glass (piece “A” on diagram) 3 1/2" x 2 1/4".
3. Cut a rectangle of glass (piece “B” on diagram) 3 1/2" x 6 3/4".
4. With grozing pliers, nip off corners of each divider piece so that
it will fit smoothly over solder bumps on inside of box.
5. Wrap each piece with foil; flux and tin thoroughly.
6. Use masking tape to hold dividers in place vertically inside box.
(Location of piece “A” can vary to right or left.) Tack solder
dividers to one another and everywhere the tinned edges touch
a solder line of box. Remove tape; clean.
