Once all of the biomes have been graphed by your group, you will need to distinguish each biome

by adding the name in the title bar after the colon (BIOME A: name). Answer each question. 1. How are the Tundra and Desert similar? -Both get very little precipitation and have extreme temperatures 2. How are the Tundra and Desert different? -The tundra is characterized by an extremely cold climate, while the desert can have very hot climate during the day, and a really cold one during the night. 3. How are the Tropical Rain and Tropical Deciduous Forests similar? -Both have plenty of diversity, lots of different species of plants and animals, and about the same temperatures each month. 4. How are the Tropical Rain and Tropical Deciduous Forests different? -The tropical rain forest has a very humid climate with plenty of precipitation, while the Deciduous Forest has less precipitation. 5. Lawrence, Kansas and Nashville, Tennessee occupy similar latitudes. Why is one found in grassland and the other in a forest biome? -Factors such as elevation contribute to the development of different biomes. 6. Which biome has the most rainfall? -Tropical Rainforest 7. Which biome has the least rainfall? -Tropical Desert 8. Which biome has the highest average temperature? -Tropical Deciduous 9. Which biome has the lowest average temperature? -Tundra 10. Which biome has the most consistent year round temperature? -Tropical Deciduous 11. Which biome has the most variable year round temperature? -The Grasslands 12. Explain 2 patterns you observe in the different biomes. -In some of the biomes, precipitation increases as the temperature does, while others seem to have no relationship at all.

2 Characteristic - Explosive plant grow in the summer because of 24 hour daylight - Very low competition over resources - Short summers - Short growing season (3 months) - Animals hibernate during the winter - Plants adapted to the forest leaning towards the sun - Generally dry Climate - Intense competition in between plants - Lowest productive biome, having very little life material - Very extreme temperatures - Intense competition for light and nutrients - Warm and wet climate
