TRAPEZOID

TRAPEZOID IS TWO-DIMENSIONAL FLAT WHICH FORMED BY 4 SIDES. WHICH TWO ARE PARALLEL BUT NOT EQUAL IN LENGTH.

DEFINITION

THE PROPERTIES OF TRAPEZOID

1.

2.

A convex quadrilateral is a trapezoid if and only if it has two adjacent angles that are supplementary, that is, they add up 180 degrees. A convex quadrilateral is also a trapezoid if and only if the diagonals form one pair of similar opposite triangles

1. Right-angled Trapezoid, a trapezoid with two of the four corners is a right angle. 2. Isosceles Trapezoid, a trapezoid that has a pair of ribs of the same length (the sides are not parallel) 3. Any trapezoid, ie the fourth trapezoidal ribs are not the same length.

KINDS OF TRAPEZOID

AREA AND PERIMETER

where a and b are the lengths of the parallel sides, and h is the height .

A = (a + b)x h 2

P = add the length of all sides P = AB + BC + CD + DA

EXAMPLE

If AB = 40.5 cm BC = 25 cm CD = 36 DA = 21 cm and the height is 18 cm. Find the area and the perimeter !
