G-20 addition to the MUN Toolkit

Communiqu A communiqu is a message, or accurate verbal depiction of all negotiations taking place in a G-20 summit. It must be agreed to by all members, and so can only be passed by unanimous support. There are no authors or signatories to a communiqu, and drafts must be written with mutual involvement and constant lobbying. There must be a communiqu issued per topic discussed. It is crucial for the communiqu to be all-encompassing in its scope, covering all major features of the plans to be implemented. Concrete proposals need to be adequately elaborated, stakeholders outside the G-20 highlighted, and contingencies acknowledged. The initial clauses must describe and account of the issues under discussion. These clauses would include all facets of the topic, covered during the debate, any previous work done by the IMF, UNO, ASEAN, GCC, or other international summits, organizations or frameworks. They should not take more than one page. A majority of the communiqu must cover the aspects of the topic under discussion. With major points, having sub-points to clearly lay out the agreed to, plan of action. Unlike a resolution, clauses can begin with phrases other than operative words; however operative clauses may be used where appropriate.
