Thinners
General Information

The great majority of paints and coatings listed in this catalog were designed to be applied without thinning. There are circumstances, however, where some thinning is required, such as application during colder temperatures or with certain types of application equipment. Each Product Data Sheet lists the correct thinner and the limits of thinning. PPG cannot accept any responsibility or the use of unauthorized thinners. Listed below are the thinners supplied by PPG, their product numbers and flash points. In addition, there is also a list of paints which utilize each thinner. This listing is only a guide. The Product Data Sheet must be consulted before thinning any PPG product. It should be noted that some products in our line do not require thinning for application, but may require a thinner for clean-up. This information can be found on the Product Data Sheets.
