A coperecipitation technique for preparing ferrofluid compositions

An aqueous solution of ferrous sulfate with a concentration of 1 mol/l and another aqueous solution of a ferric sulfate with a concentration of 1 mol/l were mixed in the molar ratio of Fe2+ and Fe3+ of 1:1.8 at a temperature 40. With vigorous stirring, the ammonia solution was added to the iron solution to a PH 10. Then, add dispersant to the solution and the mixture was stirred for 30min at 90. After cooling an HCl aqueous solution was added to the iron solution to a PH 3.The slurry was washed with water and acetone and dried at 60. 20g magnetic particles was added to a liuid carrier with ultrasonic dispersion to provide a stable ferroluid composition.Then the fluid is ferrofluid. Claim: 1 Use of C18H36O2 and C12H25C6H4SO3Na as dispersant when deionized water liuid as liquid carrier. 2 Use of (RO)2POOH(R is C8~C10 alkyl group) and RO(C2H4O)nPOOH 3-m(R is C8~C10 is alkyl groupn is 6~8m is1or2) as dispersant when C6H4COOR(R is C7~C10) as liquid carrier.

to melting, which results in forming a Fe3O4 vapour, which vapour flow is condensed on cold trap. As a result ,a condensate of Fe3O4 nanoparticles are produced on cold trap. Then the Fe3O4 nanoparticles are scraped off from the trap with teflon scraper and collected with funnel.
