1013 FTE Appoints Lori Adams Vice President of Program

Denominational Executive Brings Leadership to Advance Program Strategy

ATLANTA, January 30, 2012 Lori Adams has been named Vice President of Program for The Fund for Theological Education (FTE). She serves as a member of FTEs senior leadership team, with responsibility for leading program strategies and managing the FTE teams serving fellowships, congregational outreach, faith-based volunteer programs and alumni relations and development. Adams brings more than 10 years of organizational development and executive leadership experience to FTE. She formerly served as the Transitional President at Church Extension of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indianapolis, Ind., where she created and implemented a strategic operations plan that provided resources for congregational mission and supported church leadership. Adams also worked in a different capacity to develop organizational strategies and leverage financial and human resources to execute the mission of the Church Extension and advance its work. Previously, Adams held management positions at the Office of the General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Vanderbilt Divinity School. Loris denominational executive leadership experience and strong skills in facilitating generative conversations will be instructive in moving FTE forward, said FTE President Stephen Lewis. She is deeply committed to this work and knows firsthand the need of quality leaders to serve in faith communities. Adams graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree. She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has previously served congregations in Indiana and Tennessee. FTEs focus on leadership formation of young adults considering a life of ministry in the church and the world, creates an inviting and exciting context for me to contribute to within this position, said Adams. The Fund for Theological Education is a national, ecumenical organization dedicated to identifying and supporting a new generation of talented, diverse Christian leaders who renew the church and change the world through vocations in pastoral ministry and theological scholarship.
