KCRG-TV9 and the Iowa State High School Sports Network have reached an agreement to air the boys and girls state basketball semifinals and championship games for 2012. KCRG-TV9 will air the majority of games on KCRG 9.2. KCRG-TV9 News Director Kara Kelly says this is great news, We have spent the last year proving to viewers that KCRG 9.2 is the only broadcast television station in Eastern Iowa dedicated to the communities we live in. We have consistently broadcast LIVE and LOCAL high school sporting and entertainment events to our viewers on a regular schedule. It was an honor, to have the Iowa State High School Sports Network recognize our commitment. KCRG-TV9 Broadcast Operations Director Kevin Schrader says it wasnt an easy task to schedule the broadcasts, Due to previous show choir commitments on KCRG 9.2, we had to find another place to broadcast some of the state finals. After talking with ABC, we got the green light to actually move those broadcasts to KCRG-TV9. Thats something that is usually only reserved for collegiate sports, so we feel excited to move some of the high school games into that slot! KCRG 9.2 can be found over-the-air using an antenna or many area cable companies carry the channel. KCRG 9.2 can be found on Mediacom Digital channel 109 or channel 115-6; ImOn Cable channel 709; South Slope channel 10 and Cedar Falls Utilities channel 109. A list of more than 50 local cable companies that carry KCRG 9.2 can be found at . Analog cable companies cannot offer KCRG 9.2 because it is a digital signal. Satellite customers will need an antenna to receive KCRG 9.2 over-the-air. Satellite customers may be able to use a smaller antenna that plugs into their satellite set top box. The best reception will come by using a rooftop antenna.
