Stress Management: Getting unstuck using mindfulness Evidence shows that mindfulness is effective in reducing stress in various situations such as chronic worrying, fears of failure and dealing with frustration. We will make the time in a quiet place to observe thoughts and feelings in ways that help us take meaningful actions. Led by Dr. Jack Crossen. 5-10 minutes of orientation/information. 20-30 minutes of mindfulness guided by CD. 10-15 minutes to debrief and close.

Make the shift from worrying to caring for yourself. Start taking action to add value to your life in the ways that really matter to you. Please note the location change for this date only; Student Center Media Room Topics will include: dialogue that promotes emotional connection, antidotes for defensiveness and criticism, as well as shifting out of unproductive arguments Incorporated into Student Stress Relief Day 2012. Baird Hall, Room 6. Frustration, resentment and anger: Negative thoughts and feelings are carried with us everywhere. Either anticipated or unexpected events can trigger unpleasant memories that elicit avoidance patterns associated with fight-or-flight reaction patterns. Noticing differences between alarm signals and actual danger can free us to respond calmly.
