My eyes felt like rocks crammed into my face.

Light greedily poured itself into my pupils as they welcomed it like black holes. I'd recently developed Cancer Neo-4, and had to head to the conveeny on time for a pill. The windows appeared; I groaned to acknowledge the wakeup call and my tatami stopped vibrating. My head rolled in a purposeless effort to glance outside and I caught sight of Glen, the M.O. who refused Refrex and preferred to hobble on his knees the old-fashioned way. The ads marketed toward over100s showed such behavior in greyscale to dissuade it, though there wasn't much needed other than a glance at this human to convince anyone to go through the op when they reached 80 or so. I washed and had an oatgel, the healthiest thing I could find in my bin, then opened medspace. Unlike some, I chose to view in the morning, before I became stressed, and so I'd have some free time in the evening. Today's program was especially long, 45 minutes, and as usual almost everything applied to me (the ad targeting was especially accurate recently), so I made a mental note to increase the negatives in my products later during work. My heart beat a little faster, indicating stress, but I soon reminded myself that times had changed. It had been almost 30 years, but I still had bad memories of times before the omnieconomny.
