Math Lesson Plans Observation 10/15/09 8:30 A.M.

Objectives: TLW: Correctly label a number line using whole numbers and fractions TLW: Fill in missing numbers on a number line by identifying the patterns of a sequence of numbers Background: Yesterday we reviewed even and odd numbers and practiced finding missing numbers in a sequence. 1. Follow the math Lesson in Saxon. 2. Stop after Finding the pattern of +10 3. Divide into 3 Groups. 5. Complete number line sheets Turn into the math basekt 6. When finished kids can start working on homework side 26B. 7. When finished with remedial group- start Guided Class Practice 26A Give groups checks for having the correct answer. (Draw sticks.) 8. Allow kids time to work on 26B, turn into math basket when finished. Pull remedial group aside again for extra help with 26B. 9. Work on Brain Buster if students finish early. Assessment: 1) Number Line Sheet 2) 26B assessment of previously learned skills 3) Lesson 30 (Next Tuesday) Written Assessment Follow Up: Tomorrow, finish the rest of the lesson -using student math notebooks to create our own number lines. Next- allow challenge group to create their own number lines worksheets starting with blank number lines. The rest of the class will be given number lines with missing numbers, which they must fill in. When finished- students will get into groups of 3 to solve the number line problems that were generated by the challenge group. We will finish up with 27AB.
