Imm Rabbn Shaykh Ahmad al-Farq al-Sirhind (15641624) also known as Mujaddid alf-Thani was an Indian Islamic scholar

from Punjab, a Hanafi jurist, and a prominent member of the Naqshband Sufi order. He is described as Mujaddid Alf Thn, meaning the "reviver of the second millennium", for his work in rejuvenating Islam and opposing the heterodoxies prevalent in the time of Mughal Emperor Akbar.[1] He is said to have had considerable and longlasting influence in India and to have given "to Indian Islam the rigid and conservative stamp it bears today. Imam Rabbani received his formal education at home in sialkot then he worked in Lahore.His greater part of life was spent in sirhind where he became the champion of Islamic values. He was From an ashraf family claiming descent from caliph Umar, he received most of his early education from his father, Shaykh 'Abd al-Ahad and memorised the Qur'an. He was then sent to Sialkot, at present in Pakistan, where he learned logic, philosophy and theology and read some advanced texts of tafsr and hadth before he returned home.[3] Sirhindi also made rapid progress in the Suhraward, the Qadir, and the Chist turq, and was given permission to initiate and train followers at the age of 17. He eventually joined the Naqshbandi order through the Sufi missionary Shaykh Muhammad al-Baq, and became a leading master of this order. His deputies traversed the length and breadth of the Mughal Empire in order to popularize the order and eventually won some favour with the Mughal court. Soon Mujaddid alf-Thani was thrown into the greatest controversies of his time. Akbars attempt to find common ground between Hinduism and islam resulting in Din-i-Illahi. Much o Akbars dismay Shiekh Ahmed Sirhindi pointed out the major difference between Islam and Hinduism.His method of spreading his views was to write to his followers. As his followers worked in imperial camps and army.He wrote many scholarly books including his Famous works,Isbat-ul-Naboowat and Risal-e-Naboowat in which he emphasized the finality of Prophet hood and made it clear that any deviance from this point was un-islamic..His greatest works on islam was tauheed-eShuhudi.He continued teachi8ng islam until the end of his life and finally he passed away in 1624.
