Missionaries to Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras MARCH 2012

In the Ofce
Abby and I have both been recently working in the ofce at Emmanuel. Abby had been working on Child Sponsorship before her brief maternity leave with Ruth, and she is now back in the ofce two days a week helping with miscellaneous assignments. I have been busy in the ofce as well helping them migrate to a Mac computing and networking environment, as well as building a new database system to manage all child and sponsor records. The vast increase in the number of kids over the past two years means the same two staff members will need to operate more efciently, and hopefully the recent modernization will help.

Michael Durham Memorial House

This February, a team of over 125 people from across the United States completed our latest project, a house for 32 small boys ages 4-7. It was named in memory of Michael Durham who served the children of Emmanuel selessly during his nal years in his battle with cancer. Abby and I were moved over to help lead the new house; the rst staff couple to serve in the same house. Serving with us is staff member Leigh, junior staff member Felipe, and two older boys. We are thankful for a nice, comfortable house to work in and helpful, friendly staff to work with. We are now able to spend more time together as a family and we inherently spend more time with the boys as well since we are not in any rush to get home. It is a better dynamic all around. Please pray for us and the other staff and kids at the new house.

Staff Transition
After 13 years of service at Emmanuel, Jordan and Merethe Sonne will be returning to Denmark to help the church there. Please pray for a smooth transition for them as well as for the various staff that will be taking over their roles in worship and education. Their contributions to Emmanuel are greatly appreciated and we wish them the best in their future service to the body of Christ in Denmark.
