INFORMATION:
TRIP TO MONTSERRAT
April’08
Implementation of the
project:
• From IES Pompeu Fabra Secondary School
we chose a significant natural space near
our school : Montserrat.
• The pupils of Art and Science Sixth Form
studied the landscape thoroughly:
– Taking lots of pictures and videos.
– Drawing and painting details and general views
of the surroundings.
– Describing and analysing pieces of landscape.
– Talking about the feelings and sensations it
arises.
– Studying biotic and abiotic elements of the
landscape. 2
Work done:
. Analysing and reflecting on the
chosen setting.
. Analysing through drawings done at
the setting.
. Taking and manipulating
photographs.
Analysis and reflection of the
chosen setting.

In this picture we can see how evident it is that man has had lots to do
in the evolution of the landscape of Montserrat.
As abiotic elements we can see the farm, the parked cars, and lots of paths
used by man constantly.
Nevertheless, the biotic lanscape prevails: there are plenty of natural
spaces that have not been modified by man, like a great deal of the
mountain, the forest, etc. 1
