Comments by Lydia Guzman, Executive Director over Breakdown in DOJ/MCSO Negotiations

Phoenix - Lydia Guzman, Executive Director of Respect Respeto issued the following statements regarding the fallout of the negotiations between the Department of Justice and the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office. I am not surprised that Arpaio has suddenly halted these talks. It just goes to show that Arpaio has consistently dragged his heels and refused to cooperate with the intention of thumbing his nose at the Obama Administration. This breakdown in negotiations will likely mean added costs to that already mounting legal bill that Arpaio is bestowing on the tax payers of Maricopa County.

Please feel free to use any of these statements in your news articles. ##
