1 SAMPLE DESIGN
A probability sampling method where in the concept of random selection is used which is a controlled procedure that assures that each population element is given a non zero chance of selection. SAMPLING DESIGN STEPS Relevant Population Out of Universe The population consists of all the companies owing Engineering products (Gensets, Gear box, Fluid Coupling & Construction Equipments) in the city of Ahmedabad & Baroda out of which the relevant population will be those owing Greaves products. Sampling Frame The sampling frame will include a list of all companies owing Greaves products in the city of Ahmedabad & Baroda. Sampling Method Random Sampling Method is used. Sample Size : Out of the customer base of about 150 companies sample of nearly 10 - 15% for BG - I & BG II is taken i.e. 20 customers for each Business Group, for BG IV sample size of 12 customers is taken.

7.2 METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION The interrogation/


communications method is used where the surveyor questions the customers by personal means. Also the other main source of data used are : Primary Source : In the form of Questionnaires (APPENDIX I) Secondary Source : In the form of articles of periodicals, organizations data achieves & reports prior studies.
