English 202: Final Chapbook A chapbook is a small book or pamphlet containing poetry, stories, images, or religious and political

commentary. From the 16th through the 19th centuries, chapbooks were a popular medium used to disseminate information and to share creative woks, particularly in rural areas as merchants peddled popular culture to those who were removed from the cultural centers. Chapbooks are still made today, primarily in the poetry scene. There are a few chapbook publishers still in existence today; most poets simply make their own books. For this project, you will be creating your own chapbook, filling it with your own poems and with images that correspond with your poems. Your chapbook must contain the following components: Title Table of Contents 12-15 revised poems, both original & revised, including assignments & blogs Images, illustrations, or photographs that correspond with EVERY poem Preface (a 1 page paper at the beginning of the book OR handed in separately) Page numbers Preface In your preface, you must answer the following questions: What are the major themes in this book? How do the poems within the book reflect and convey these themes? Be specific. What is the title? Why did you choose this title? How does the title connect with the theme(s)? How did you choose to arrange the book? Why did you choose to arrange it this way? What types of images did you choose? How do the images relate to the poems? How do the images relate to the themes? List at least one author (preferably a poet) who you respect and who has influenced your work. Explain what you like about the author and how he or she has influence your own style. Optional Author bio on the back cover Epigraph (a quote put at the beginning of a book or a piece of literature)
