GUIDELINES IN THE ORGANIZATION OF CLASSES, GRADEIYEAR CLASS
SCHEDULE, TIME.ALLOTMENT OF SUBJECTS AND LOADING OF TEACHERS
FOR SY 2011 - 2012
To: Division Supervisors/Coordinators
Elementary/Secondary School Principals
This Office hereby issues the following guidelines in the organization of classes;
Grade/Year class schedule; time allotment of subjects; and, loading of teachers for
implementation this SY 2011 - 2012, to wit:
A. Organization of classes
1. To accommodate all enrollees, the Double Shift scheme shall be observed with
Grades I, III, VI and year I and IV scheduled in the morning and II, IV, and V and year II
and III in the afterrioon.
2. Grades I-III are self-contained, Grade IV is paired teaching while Grades V and VI
are team teaching. As usual, the Years I-IV are departmentalized by subjectarea.
3. Since Grade IV is paired each pair shall be assigned adjacent rooms.
4. Pairing for Grade IV teachers can follow the following options as:

Recess shall be handled by the teacher-in-charge.
5. Grades V, VI and Year I-IV teachers shall be clustered into teams who will occupy
a contiguous set of rooms to ensure fast movement Each team shall consist of a set of English, .
Filipino, Science, Math, Social Studies, e.EN.E, MSEPIMAPEH and EPPITLE.
6. MSEPIMAPEH teachers shall use the covered court while the EPPITLE classes
shall use the Practice House and H.F1 Industrial Rooms. Values Education (Secondary Level)
teachers shall mobilize as usual.
7. To facilitate mobilization in the secondary schools, specific buildings shall be
assigned for each year level instead of by subject area. Clustering of rooms shall be done as
describedin A.3 and A.5 particularly for the five academic subject areas.
8. There shall be one opportunity class for each grade level from Grades II - VI and
first year. All non/slow readers shall be placed in these classes which shall be taught by master
teachers. .,:,
9. Class size shall be 45 for elementary and 55 for secondary. Classes from Grade I to
III maybe reduced to 40 if teachers and classrooms are still available.

10. Homogenous grouping is allowed only for .the first and second sections for small
schools and for the first three sections for big schools. All others are heterogeneous grouping.
11. Ancillary service rooms maybe converted to academic classrooms, if needed. The
covered courts and practice house should be maximally used for instruction.

Schools are advised to strictly obserVe the herein official regular class hours by
grade level inclusive ofthe I5-minute recess.

Notes:
English and Math: Class to be held 5 x a week.
Science: Classes to be held 5 x a w e ~ k plus additional 60 minutes once a
week.
C. Teacher's Loading! Assignment
1. All principals are expected to apply BEIS formula in coming up with the number of
grade/year/subject requirements on the number of teachers.
2. The maximum teaching load is 6 hours/360 minutes per day or 30 hours /1.800 minutes
per week.
3. Master teachers should be given full teaching load.
4. TLEIEPP teachers are expected to assist in the Canteen as per DepEd Order Number 08
s. 2007. (Attention: Dr. Romero and Mrs. A. Pascual)
5. The usual two - hours required to be rendered by a teacher should be rendered fully or
weekly to come up with 40 hours per week. This arrangement still holds true pending the
issuance of DepEd Order rescinding this policy.
6. A teacher whose teaching load is less than 30 hours per week maybe included in the pool
of substitutes for absent teachers. He/She renders substitute teaching to complete the 30 hourS
weekly requirement. .
D. Submission of the Master Class! Teacher's Program
1. For the Master Class Program, sections be indicated together with the Teacher-in-Charge
and Room Number.
2. For the Master Teachers' Program, names of teachers should be indicated in alphabetical
order with surname, title (Miss, Mrs., Dr.), first name and middle initial. e.g Rosal, (Miss) Elena

3. A summary of each teacher's load should be placed at the bottom of the schedule/.

4. Every page of both the Master Teachers' and Class' Program should be signed by the
principal, parent supervisor and SDS.
5. A masterlist of all teachers serving the school should be part of the Master Teacher
Program (See format in Div.Memo No. 111 s. 2007)
6. Submission ofthe Master Class/ Teacher's Program is on or before June 3, 2011.

E. Other Instructions
1. School heads to revisit DepEd Issuances as to enrolment procedures/guidelines, No
collection Policy, No Refusal Policy and student uniforms, among others.
2. Distribute textbooks on the first day of classes.
3. Classes must start Qn Monday, June 6, 2011. Principal must respond effectively to all
challenges in their respective areas. Have contingency plans to respond to emerging problems.
4. Traffic problems in congested critical areas and or petty crimes like snatching, extortions
and others within the vicinity of the school particularly during the opening of classes should be
eased through coordination with the Mayor's Office, Barangay Captains and the police .
.5. Division Supervisors/Coordinators are tasked to monitor how enrolment and the first week
of classes are conducted. You shall submit to the undersigned a written report on the conduct of
enrolment including problems and how they were resolved.
