According to the philosopher of science, Karl Popper, scientific statements are statements that are possible to prove wrong. For example the law of gravity states that the force is proportional to the product of the two masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. This is a statement that has the capacity to be proved wrong. It is not that the law of gravity is wrong; just that it is possible to imagine that it can be proved wrong. In contrast Astrology is a pseudo-science, something that is pretending to be a science but is not. A statement is astrology may predict that Leos will have good fortune on Thursday. This is a statement that we can check. If you are a Leo and on Thursday you find 10 you can say I had good luck the astrologer was right. But you will have good luck on Thursday,

is a statement that is impossible to disprove or falsify. If you wake up on Thursday you can just as well say Im lucky to be alive, the astrologer was right. If the astrologer had said all Leos will find 10 on Thursday, that is something we could prove wrong. But having good luck is so vague there is no scientific meaning in it.
