AUTHORS BACKGROUND
Jean P Sasson is an American writer, born in 1947, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work mainly centers around women in the Middle East and the injustice they suffer at the hands of the patriarchal society. Is the author of the worldwide bestsellers Princess, Daughters of Arabia, Desert Royal and Mayada: Daughter of Iraq.

THEME OF THE BOOK


DAUGHTERS OF ARABIA , is a sequel to the international bestseller Princess and is the second book in the Princess trilogy . The book is a true story of life behind the veil and exposes the claustrophobic and inhumane treatment meted out to women in Saudi Arabia.

Sultanas fervent endeavor to improve the status of Saudi women. The startling discovery Sultana makes about her teenaged daughter Maha and her friend Aisha.

CONCLUSION
The book unravels the truth behind Saudi Arabia's well donned image. It makes us realize how protected, safe and free we are in our home land. It teaches us to value the liberty we get and the surroundings we live in, we always take for granted. The book is inspiring and a highly recommended read.
